High Sierra Trail to Mt Whitney: Logistics

  1. Jon B

How did the A6000 battery hold up during the trip? Were you taking a lot of photos each day?

    • Mike

It wasn’t awful but not great either, but I did forget to turn the camera off once or twice while hiking. I took two batteries for the camera, a solar panel and two USB battery packs. I guess you could say I had a pretty good power plan.

  2. EdG

I have been wanting to jump coasts and try this trail out. I have done a lot of winter hiking in NH and have never needed an ice axe. Did you really need the ice axe and crampons?

    • Mike

Yes, 100% needed an ice ax for this hike during the season that I went. If you go during the heat of summer you should be fine, but there are some steep snowfields where it would be dumb not to have an ice ax during snowy months.
