First off I am not being paid by MSR nor do I have any special connection with them.
Now that I got that out of the way, I have to say I am pretty excited for a few of their new products for the year, despite there website currently having some issues. I kindly informed them, and they worked quickly to fix it:
@Cattywampur It is a known issue we are working on. Thank you for notifying us! It should be fixed shortly.

Anywho, back on topic to what I am excited about from MSR this year.
1) Advance Pro 2 Ultralight 2 Person 4 Season Tent
I am interested in this tent due to its light weight (For a 4 season tent 2 person) at 2 pounds 14 oz and its ease of set up. You can see how easy it is to set up in their promotional video here:
2) TrailShot Pocket Sized Water Filter
What impresses me about this is its unique design. Although unique designs in water filters haven’t always been the best, so I will have to try it before I pass judgement.
I think I would use this filter more to fill bottle, then drink straight from. I am interested to see how it works in silty water since my last MSR filter seemed to struggle during my Grand Canyon trip.
3) Tough Stake Snow/Sand Tent Stakes
This last item, I dont have a cool video to share from MSR, and I honestly do not have any more details for it because the link is currently broken on the MSR website… Yes I told them about this problem too:

All I have is a picture taken from the MSR website:
Despite not having very much information, I am very intrigued by the shape of these stakes and am excited for a stake specifically designed fro snow and sand. I do a lot of camping in Anza Borrego Desert, and would love to test these stakes out, and I introduced my self to snow shoeing this winter and plan to go on more snow camping trip in the future.
What are your thoughts on these three new items from MSR this year?
